BMR has provided exploration support to Genmin since 2014 for the development of its iron properties in Australia and Canada. BMR’s involvement has included a wide range of technical assistance on geological issues, including structural mapping across Genmin’s entire tenement package, geological interpretation of ground- and airborne geophysical datasets, technical assistance in pitting, auger, and diamond drilling programs, detailed structural analysis of drill core, the development of metallurgical sampling programs, and assistance with Mineral Resource estimation. In addition, BMR’s project evaluation team has provided independent valuations on Genmin’s exploration assets to both the company and their private equity partners.

Genmin’s focus in Gabon is the development of a set of iron ore properties located in close proximity to the Trans-Gabon railway system, which is currently serving the COMILOG and Nouvelle Gabon manganese mining operations in southeast Gabon. The work to date has identified mineralisation in the form of detrital iron, which can be beneficiated by simple crushing, wet screening, and dense media separation to generate a high-grade iron product classed into lump, coarse fines, and fines size fractions.

Genmin is working towards increasing the mineral resource and completing the requisite study work to advance the project to production. To support this, SRK is conducting a conceptual study for tailings storage facility (TSF) solutions and providing geotechnical expertise to Genmin’s internal study team.

BMR’s geology team will continue to support Genmin’s ongoing exploration activities across the entire tenement package in Gabon by providing in-depth geological mapping and geological interpretation of geophysical datasets.

BMR has also worked with Genmin’s technical staff in the field, providing on-the-job training and assisting the local team by acting as a French-speaking liaison to Government and Gabonese stakeholders.
